The Conservatives have taken over Harrow Council very convincingly.

HCTC arranged an opportunity for everyone to meet representatives for all the parties contesting the Council Elections in May. A full St Alban's Church hall questioned . Rowan Langley (Green), Chris Mote (Conservative), Chris Noyce (Liberal Democrat), Navin Shah (Labour) and a Akil Dhalla (Independent). The People's Independent Party 2002 did not send a representative.

A public meeting at the PADCA hall was well attended, with resident's hearing about factors that will probably double the amount of Council Tax we pay in Harrow over the next few years.

Archie Foulds, leader of Harrow's Labour group and leader resigned last night to be replaced by Navin Shah.

Since the Council Budget was set in February, the HCTC committee has concerned itself with organising the long-term future of the campaign, as there is clearly much still to be done. We now have a constitution and plans for the future, to be settled at the first AGM.

HCTC is not a political organisation, but nonetheless campaigned actively during the local and European elections to ensure that candidates and the media were well aware of the residents' views, and taxation and spending plans remained an issue.
