What next?

HCTC is alive and well and the job is not over.  We are in the quiet period of Council Tax debate but it will not be long before we are looking at a medium term budget strategy increase of 3.61% (2005-2006) that is well above inflation. We will soon suffer a GLA precept increase of twice Harrow's percentage increase.

HCTC is establishing a communication network via an executive committee, constitution and membership. A small membership fee will be requested (a minute fraction of the reduced Council Tax achieved by HCTC) to pay for printing, publicity and meetings, which in the past has been found from the pockets of the original campaign team and donations.

24,000+ supporters were a massive shock to Harrow Council, and told the politicians exactly what residents expect without the  Council's costly and ineffective consultation.

Politicians say they deplore the public apathy at elections particularly local elections.  I have a suspicion that politicians may quite like general apathy as this enhances the voting effect of their activists.

HCTC is asking all its supporters to come out and vote on June 10th.  Whatever the outcome it will show the will of the people is paramount. This is a very important election for London and Europe.
