Report from the 2004 HCTC AGM

27th Jul 2004

Since the Council Budget was set in February, the HCTC committee has concerned itself with organising the long-term future of the campaign, as there is clearly much still to be done. A formal constitution and plans for the way forward have now been settled at the first AGM on 27th July 2004 in St John Ambulance Hall, North Harrow

A packed hall heard the acting chairman, Berjis Daver deliver a statement summarising progress so far and thank many who had put so much work into the campaign to date. The acting treasurer, Stanley Sheinwald (also spokesperson for the HCTC) read a short report explaining how funds raised had been spent and then the hall got down to the business of discussing the constitution. A few worthwhile amendments were proposed and accepted and the document was unanimously accepted by all those present (sixty-five votes in total). (Click here to read the adopted constitution)

The membership then unanimously voted for Stanley Sheinwald and Berjis Daver to continue in their present positions as Secretary and Chairman respectively. Stanley Sheinwald agreed to continue as acting treasurer as there were no candidates for this post.

The remainder of the meeting was taken up with with questions and discussion from the audience, during which many useful suggestions were proposed and information given.
